Visual Ergonimics basically says that learning about color is not just learning about color. It involves form, psychology, science and history. All these have different applications to color. Also, color and lighting go hand in hand - One affects the other. One must select the surface as it relates the both color and light.
This is a challenge in our profession today. Just as a color consultant analyzes the light in a home before color is selected, so shall it be in the mouth also. So why are we just "Dentists"? In effect, we are color consultants and designers as well. I really don't pick colors or shades for teeth, I look for architectural details in the morphology of teeth to create a total "Esthetic Design", inclusive of color.
